F\u00fcr die chinesische Regierung kommen die Proteste in Tibet anl\u00e4sslich des 49. Jahrestages eines Aufstands der Tibeter gegen die chinesischen Besatzer zum denkbar ung\u00fcnstigsten Zeitpunkt. Schliesslich wollte man sich im Vorfeld der olympischen Sommerspiele 2008 in Bejing als fortschrittlich und weltoffen pr\u00e4sentieren und versprach sogar, die Menschenrechtssituation zu verbessern. Leider aber spricht die blutige Niederschlagung der tibetischen Proteste eine ganz andere Sprache und r\u00fcckt China einmal mehr in ein wenig positives Licht.<\/p>\n

Ob ein Boykott der olympischen Spiele, wie er bereits an<\/a> diversen<\/a> Orten<\/a> gefordert wird, daran aber etwas \u00e4ndern w\u00fcrde, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Im Gegenteil, denn genau das Medien<\/del> Sport-Ereignis r\u00fcckt die Situation der Tibeter ins \u00f6ffentliche Licht. Was juckt es die Chinesen schon, wenn die Spiele boykottiert werden? Etwas schlechte Propaganda, ok, aber die produziert man ja selbst bereits in Massen. Und auch die Geschichte zeigt, dass Olympia-Boykotte nicht wirklich etwas ausrichten k\u00f6nnen<\/a>. <\/p>\n

W\u00e4re ein Boykott nicht einfach nur ein symbolischer Akt, der wohl nur den Sportlern richtig weh tun w\u00fcrde? Mal ehrlich: Wer hat in seinem Haushalt denn kein einziges chinesisches Produkt? Keinen DVD-Player, Computer, Spielzeug oder Turnschuhe? Heutzutage kommt doch fast alles (oder zumindest Bauteile darin) aus China und die massiven Menschenrechtsverletzungen haben bis heute niemanden davon abgehalten, das Zeugs zu kaufen. Und das obwohl die Problematik nicht erst seit heute bekannt ist. <\/p>\n

Der eigentliche Fehler hinter der ganzen Geschichte d\u00fcrfte viel eher sein, dass die Olympischen Spiele \u00fcberhaupt nach China vergeben wurden und man beim IOK den Beteuerungen der chinesischen Funktion\u00e4re Glauben schenkte…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
